90 Minutes with Richie McCaw - Behind the Pod

It’s hard to think of any Kiwis who match Richie McCaw’s level of gravitas when he walks into a room.

We witnessed it yesterday in Hamilton.

Heads turn, conversations stop, elbows nudge…. Richie's here!!

It’s also rare to hear him speak. So our role as MCs for a long-form 90-minute Q and A in front of 350 people, was a real pinch-me moment.

And Richie delivered!

We spoke about leadership and resilience and how to keep getting up in tough times.

It was full of wisdom and humility, sprinkled with golden one-liners.

My favourites were:

⭐️ "A measure of culture is whether people do the right things for the team when no one is watching."

⭐️ "Leadership is how you show up in the hard times."

⭐️ "Separate the feelings from the facts, then take steps to do what you can control."

The room was captivated. No surprises really, but Richie's still got it!

And now that we're best friends, it's surely a matter of time before we see him on Between Two Beers. 👀
