Is Recording Live the Future of Podcasts? - Behind the Pod

David Downs was the perfect guest for our first live podcast.

He has that priceless ability to make an audience laugh, cry and learn.

David is a former comedian (who founded the Classic Comedy Club in his mid 20s) before putting together one of NZ's most impressive business CVs (currently the Chair of the Ice House and Wells Foundation and CEO of NZ Story!!).

He's also a cancer survivor, and overcame a terminal diagnosis where he was given a 5% chance of surviving longer than 12 months.

And you could hear a pin drop as the captivated audience of 150 hung on to every word as he detailed his toughest times - and lessons learned. It was raw and real.

The night was a huge success and getting real-time feedback from the heartfelt moments (and the attempted gags) - unlocked a new kind of dopamine hit.

10/10.... will do again!
