An Overwhelming Response - Behind The Pod

Last week we revealed our Reflections concept to the Between Two Beers community - and we've been overwhelmed by the response.

The concept is simple - capture someone's life story.

But the value of it done well, is priceless.

And there's an art in the craft.

We've found the hardest part of the process is deciding which parts of someone's story to leave out.

We ask our guests (or those acting on their behalf) for 10 points to cover. These can be people, places, themes, moments, periods or turning points.

We then interview the subject on those points (to flesh out a plan of attack for the recording) then ask the family to rank them from 1-10 in order of priority, so we know which areas to spend more time in and which to move through faster.

The last thing a family wants is gramps telling one of his never-ending stories!

There's been high demand on behalf of people with a terminal illness. There's an urgency there. And they're such powerful conversations.

The whole thing is a really intimate space and we feel super privileged to be in it. And the feedback on the concept has blown us away.

We're in the process of getting back to everyone - thank you for your patience.

The waitlist may be long in the short term, but we're working on a way to get to as many of you as possible.

It may end up being the most meaningful work we do.
