The Start of a New Chapter - Behind The Pod

There have been a few ‘moments’ along this podcast, and now business journey that have meant a bit more than others.

And the most recent one is moving into our first office.

It feels like we’re growing up!

Since the start of the year, when I left my job at the NZ Herald, and Seamus did his thing all over the globe, we've both worked from home.

I can't, and won't, speak to Seamus' experience, but I quickly found that being surrounded by four kids under seven was not conducive to a productive working environment.

So I would café hop during the day (shoutout Coffee Culture) and plug away on my laptop at home during the night.

But it wasn’t efficient. And what I now realise I was lacking, was stability.

And so when Matt Stark and Ali Lennon reached out offering us some office space at their new epic project at Made, it was a dream scenario.

Stark Property is the driving force behind the changing face of Hamilton and like us are proud Hambassadors.

Having our own space (with a river view!!) has allowed me to do some of my best deep, focused work of the year! And we’ve only been in here a week…

But it also represents being a serious business; having a headquarters, a real tangible space that is ours. Until now, our business had just existed in sound frequencies and social media channels, but this feels like the start of a new chapter.

It feels like it's really happening!

And the kids already love coming to visit dad at ‘work’.
