The Best Decision We've Made - Behind The Pod

18 months ago, we went all in on marketing.

We didn’t double down, we tripled down.

'Marketing Marcus' started taking 70% of our monthly revenue.

We put a big emphasis on creating compelling video content for our social channels - and adopted a strategic approach that’s blown up our follower base and online community.

We started creating teasers for each episode, to drive curiosity and intrigue about the full length episodes, and these were repurposed across Tik Tok, Youtube Shorts, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

We started identifying other moments from our episodes that translated well to short-form social media content, and ramped up the volume of that too. We looked for other content opportunities to drive engagement, shares and bring more eyeballs to our brand.

And it’s all paid off, over these 18 months, our monthly downloads have almost doubled, and our social media audience has more than quadrupled in size.

Big investment, big results.

It was the best decision we've made. 

It's been so cool to watch Marcus' business grow and evolve at the same pace as ours.

He's the best marketing operator in the game, but more importantly - a great human.

It's one of the first - and most important - business lessons we learned. Surround yourself with good people.

Since then, their podcast has gone from:

• 81,663 downloads per month ⏩ 147,712 downloads in August 2024.
• 302,630 monthly impressions ⏩ 4.7 million impressions in August.
• 17,956 total followers ⏩ 80,363 total followers.

They've gone from four podcast releases a month - to 10 per month, including a new 'Hambassadors' segment and an entirely new 'Business in Between' show, as well as launching a speaking business and an interview service business.
