We've Become Accidental Business Owners - Behind The Pod

At the start of 2024 we set ourselves one major goal: to both be working fulltime in our podcast business by the end of the year.

It was a plan based on optimism and vibes, however optimism and vibes don't pay the bills.

For the first six months of the year, Steve would be getting paid, driving the business and creating new revenue streams, while earning enough money to provide for his million children.

And for that same time period (and the 4.5 years before) Seamus would continue working for the love of it.

It was the best way for us to try and make it work in the short term - but there were no guarantees it would. 

On Seamus' behalf, it was a huge leap of faith and continued sacrifice.

But this month, we turned that corner. It happened sooner than we thought.

Now we’re both getting fully paid.

It's been a hell of a ride; exhilarating, stressful, fun with big risks, big talks and plenty on the line at each hurdle.

And our business and mindset coach Di Foster has played a big role in helping get our heads right, and finding our feet as business owners.

And during these sessions with Di, a new idea formed.

What if we started a new podcast, with the three of us, and use it as a live coaching session? No notes, just brutal honesty about what it’s like trying to grow our business.

So we did!

So far we’ve recorded five episodes – and already it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. There's been laughs, tears and some super inappropriate gags.

It's us, and it's real.

It will sit on our new Business in Between podcast channel and is called Accidental Business Owners.

Our first episode drops on Wednesday July 17^th  and it will be a fortnightly release.
