What a Year. Thanks for Being Part of It.

Hey team, it’s been a minute between newsletters, so it’s good to be back in your inbox.

The start of December has been a reflective time for us - and we've spent a bit of time looking back, in the best way.

This year we hosted the Halbergs, launched a new company, built our own studio, moved into a new office, made our first hire… then our second. Somewhere in there, Seamus bought a house and got married, I'm in the process of finishing the Owner Manager Programme with The Icehouse, and we were last month crowned New Zealand’s number one podcast - by apple, while picking up Best Sport and Best Business at the NZ Podcast Awards. And there may be one big twist to come 😉 .

Reflections has been humming along in the background too, turning into something we’re really proud of. Families are buying video and audio packages, gifting vouchers for Christmas, and then coming back to tell us what it meant to sit down and record those stories. That word of mouth has been huge, and we’ve dropped a separate update and a couple of links in this newsletter if you want to see what that side of things looks like.

If we’re honest, we’re now very motivated by one short-term goal: December 12. That’s our last day in the office for the year before we shut things down for three weeks and go full family mode.

My big hairy audacious goal is to switch the phone off for a full week - but we'll see how we go!

Huge thanks for all the support again this year – the listens, messages, DMs, and the way you share episodes with mates. Take care of yourself, look after one another, and keep listening over summer. We’ll be rolling out a stack of “best of the back catalogue” episodes, and there’s heaps of cool stuff in there you might have missed the first time around.

Reflections has real momentum heading into the end of the year.

More and more families are choosing full video and audio packages, and the feedback has been unreal. The common theme is people saying they’re proud they “finally did this” for their parents or grandparents – and then sharing it around the wider family, which is driving a heap of word-of-mouth interest and enquiries.
